JANUARY 23, 2017

With severe weather blowing through Southern California I decided to tighten up my emergency power system to make it more easy to use. Up until now I simply had my marine battery hooked up to the solar panel, but that was about it. So I picked up the MinnKota Trolling Motor Power Center battery case.  Yes, I could have simply gotten a regular battery box and cut in the voltmeter and outlets, but this I knew would be operational right out of the box and save me a few hours of work.

The MinnKota Trolling Motor Power Center connected to the solar charge controller.
(Yes I know the controller is mounted upside down, but that the best orientation for the wiring.)
USB outlet and voltage indicator. Also 10 and 20 Amp breakers.

And a very convenient cigarette outlet which I will run my inverter out of.
